Go for it—apply for the job. You literally have nothing to lose. (ok, maybe your time if you end up not getting it, but still! worth it)

I’ve been in situations before where the team was open to restructuring the role to make it fit the background and experience I had. Listen, if they want you, they want you. They’re going to make it work in any way possible so they can snag your you and your talent. So just go for it!
