Career hot takes: Managers

A good manager can make or break a job or career. Perhaps not a hot take. lol because duh.

I’m suuuuper lucky to have had great managers (I’d say 99% of them were excellent). I work well with bosses who are thorough, supportive, communicate clearly, and encourage me to think outside the box, beyond just the scope of my job.

What they say about “choose a manager, not a job” is pretty spot on (obviously not always the case, but definitely not an untrue statement).

Good managers makes a world of difference. They protect their teams. They lead with empathy.
